About Your Guide
My name is Joshua, and I have always been a seeker.
From a very young age, there were many facets of normalized living that did not sit well in my body. Without proper guidance or validation for my sensitivities, these pains led to deep existential loneliness, debilitating anxiety, and suicidal depression.
My awakening began about 12 years ago, following a divorce and the complete shattering of many familiar identities. This led me to seek relief through better diet, exercise, and social connection- each of which helped for a time but ultimately failed to bring true fulfillment. That persistent ache guided me into deeper spiritual pursuits, eventually drawing me to Asheville, NC, where I surrounded myself with others devoted to healing and transformation.
Immersing in that community was life-changing. I grew into a version of myself I never thought possible. Yet, the hole in my heart remained. I still felt this ache and longing that I knew could only be touched by finding my self, my gifts, my purpose at the deepest level- and becoming a pillar of service for humanity.
After another major heartbreak, everything once again unraveled, and the ground dissolved beneath me. Following my soul’s call once again, I did one of the hardest things imaginable: I sold my things, left my business and community, and entered the Great Unknown- a wandering seeker once more.
After 7 months of grief-stricken wandering- filled with adventure, doubt, fear, and existential confusion- I found the Purpose Guides Institute. Enrolling in their soul-based Purpose Discovery program changed my life in a way nothing else had.
It gave language to the ache I had carried for years, something no spiritual community had been able to do for me prior. It reawakened my imagination and intuition, helping me understand the unique mytho-poetic language of my soul. It bridged ancient and indigenous wisdom with the crises of the modern world, and brought me into direct alignment with my soul’s purpose- a living, breathing relationship with my archetypal essence.
Since that initiation, life has been steadily revealing my next steps. I have been guided towards apprenticeship with the patient ways of mastery. Where chronic dysregulation, burnout, and anxious rigidity once ruled my life, I now live from the unique rhythm of my soul- slowness, stillness, and deep regulation. My soul’s paths of mysticism and shamanism continue to guide me home to myself, a place of deep joy and peace.
Naturally, the next step was clear: to train and certify as a Purpose Guide through the very institute that helped transform my life- so that I might now help others find their way back to theirs.
